Reformer n°6

Ce qui ne va pas

Since the end of last week, Reformer no. 6 has been playing up on several points and I would rather write it all down at once so the technician arrives knowing what to look at. The carriage first: it runs properly for the first twenty centimetres, then stops short, always at the same place, as if it were running over a grain of sand. The noise is sharp, metallic, and it comes back when the carriage returns. The students feel it, one of them asked whether the machine was broken. Then the springs. The red one and the light blue one hook up normally, but the hook on the middle spring has play in it, you can hear it clicking as soon as you push hard. I did not dare take it off myself. The straps: the left one has been longer than the right one since the last adjustment, or it has gone slack. The result is that asymmetric exercises are off and I have to compensate by hand during the class. The footbar holds, but locking it takes two tries out of three. It is not blocking, I am reporting it so it gets looked at during the visit rather than in a month. Last point, more annoying: the right shoulder rest moves by a few millimetres under load. I tightened it, it comes back after two or three classes. I have left the machine in service for now, but if it gets worse I will take it off the schedule, tell me what you think.
